Thats right i did something absurd, its probably something that i should have done years ago but better late than never. I gave away my copy of halo2 to a buddy that works in my research lab. Its so sad to admit but i have played that game online alot over the last 2 years or so. It was something that i honestly didnt play religiously like i did when i lived with james, but i noticed the urges reemerging so i decided to simply give it away. This summer i actually have to focus 110% on research blah blah blah etc. I am not sure if giving that game away will help but hopefully it will help me channel my energies into something more valuable which compared to video games is pretty much everything.
I have a revived an old skill that I am quite proud of and in fact its inspired through another video game. Many dont know that I used to be quite the guitarist in middle school and high school, but once college hit i pretty much had no time or actually gave no time to the guitar. I even gave away my fender acoustic to my bro in law sometime in undergrad now looking back i truly regret but thankfully i still had my electric fender stratocaster sitting in my bedroom for the last 4 years or so. A few weeks back I took it back to the ole house in lexington, bought some new strings for it and have been jamming like its 1995.
Jenn was a little unwilling at first but now that I learned a few choice songs she sees how i can woo her in numerous ways that I couldnt before. My first song to learn was more than a feeling by the beloved boston which i have the down pretty well but its still a little rough, i have been working on sweet child o mine intro alot lately as well. Tonight I have been trying to learn the lead guitar to snow by red hot chili peppers but its damn hard, but i have all the time in the world. Jenn is working her first 7pm to 7am shift tonight so now that i am haloless i am practicing the six string and writing in this damn thing.
I hope all that i dont contact anymore that might be reading this is doing well, Jenn and I are doing mighty fine.

This email might not make you crap your pants, but it sure does to ME. Should be the longest 50 minutes of my life, but the way i present it will be a solid 30 minutes.
Last post I promised myself I would bust my ass and work everyday in my lab this january and ehhh ummm yeah. Actually its going rather well and I have only not worked one day in the past 2 weeks and that was MLK day. I was planning on going in on that day but Jenn, kate, kopp and I decided to go bowling at the fine Joyland Lanes. You cant turn down 99 cents a game, it simply isnt possible. The sad part was that we bowled only 3 days prior on that saturday night where I put up a gentlemans 135; my personal high. My 10th frame was a solid XX9 in almost ernie mccracken form.
I must say that Jenn and I have been watching scrubs for ungodly amounts each day. We have been watching the 7 7:30 and then the late night 11:30 12:00am showings almost everyday and night. Its getting a little sad but hey i never really got into the show and its easily one of the better post seinfeld era shows. I think Zach Braff just knocked paul rudd off the top of my heterosexual crush list. The man is pretty awesome and I am refusing to believe that the last kiss movie he did was a giant terd, but I have yet to see it for myself although that is what I have heard.
On the same note I have become obsessed with the song that colin hay played on scrubs when he was actually in the episode, I have been replaying into the ground. I never really listened to colin hay besides the one song he had on the garden state soundtrack. So I guess I now have two songs of his I love, I branch out. Sure enough I foulnd the clip of him actually being in the the episode playing the song enjoy.
I actually had something worth saying outside of nerdy work and zach braff related things.
Maybe I ll write in this poor excuse of a blog tomorrow.

It feels like the storylines and trailers of video games are becoming better than movies. This game looks pretty cool, too bad im not getting a 360 until halo3 comes out.
I came across pics of little I mean a uh old Daniel Radcliff on imdb today
Harry Potter then...
Harry Potter in next years movie...
Its pretty ridiculous how much older this guy looks since the beginning of these movies, but then i realized its been over 5 years and now i feel old as shite.
Yup yup, I had this ridiculously pointless advanced O chem class that was in that was no way helping me and starting to stress me out because it required knowledge from several classes that I never took. I talked to my professor today and he agreed that I should not waste anymore time. There arent any required classes so I will never have to look at that class again! WEEEEEEEE. I will have synthetic org. chem. next spring though so life wont always be peaches and creme which is usually how lucky i get with "life things".
Its been nonstop this week with moving and last minute wedding stuff and of course last night i was sick as a dog. I went to bed at 8pm which is unheard of and woke up 9am. I feel better but my throat is still sore, i just hope this is gone before going to the dry heat of vegas.
The power went out at my house and we just busted out the generator, i hooked up the essentials fridges, tv and modem and router. Lord knows i would know what i would do without the internet.
So i started playing on this poker site hollywoodpoker.com b/c they have a nice sign up bonus but their big pitch is that a bunch of celebrities play on this site which I really dont believe anyone gives a crap about. They have these testimonials of people that played with celebrities which are freaking gold a few examples below.
“Mena Suvari was at my table last night. I have never been so happy that this was online poker – there is no way I would’ve been able to concentrate if we were face to face. Then again, I was knocked out anyway! Good times!” – Stellar91
“Well, the very first time I ever played on this site I actually got lucky enough to play with James (Woods) and Scott Baio. Now, Scott didn't say much - but, James...he was even helping me out a bit because I was going on about being such a new poker player (so true). "
My fav i think:
“I played with Dawn DeNoon (writer for Law & Order, among other things, and James Woods' girlfriend), and she could NOT have been more gracious to a bunch of slavering wannabe poker players!!” – Ean8
Getting called with top set in Pot limit omaha only for the guy to catch runner runner flush.....frickin bastard.
I had tons o fun getting outside of my own apartment even if it was a pseudo lame at royal lex for joels bday. I truly cannot believe that i am still discussing royal lex, but i enjoyed my time with the guys i havent hung out with in a while.
An email from the poker players alliance, yes i am apart of this.
"Dear PPA Member:
Thank you for all you do to promote and defend the great game of poker.
On Tuesday, July 11, 2006, American poker players were dealt a bad hand by the U.S. House of Representatives. In a 317 to 93 vote the U.S. House passed H.R. 4411, sponsored by Jim Leach, R-Iowa, which would prohibit banks and credit card companies from processing payments for online gambling bets. It also includes the major provisions of another bill HR 4777 by Robert W. Goodlatte, R-Va., that would force Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to block access or disable hyperlinks to Web sites that offer online gambling.
Inexplicably, this legislation provides exemptions for online horse betting, Internet lotteries and certain fantasy sports, yet poker and other online games are swept into this prohibition bill."
Funny how poker a game of actual skill gets the shaft while horse betting and online lotteries are allowed to stay which are guaranteed losers in the long run. Lets cross our fingers this gets shot down in the senate.
A quote from the PPA response:
"The United States should follow the lead of the United Kingdom by regulating and taxing online poker, not banning it. An economic analysis just released by our organization shows that U.S. regulation of online poker has the potential to raise more than $3.3 billion in annual revenue for the federal government, in addition to another $1 billion for state coffers. We hope that this analysis will give a fresh perspective for U.S. Senators about the benefits of regulation."
Apparently the U.S. Gov't hates money, makes sense...
